Chanoyu Initiation

Le week end dernier j'ai eu la chance de participer à une initiation à la cérémonie du thé, organisée par l'association Ken to cha et dirigée par  Sosei Omi diplômée de l’école Urasenke.
Pour l'occasion j'ai voulu porter un kimono, celui que je vous ai présenté plus tôt. Sensei était très étonnée qu'une française sache mettre un kimono.
Dans la pièce il n'y avait pas de miroir et j'étais assez stressée de ne pas avoir le temps. Donc ce fut un kitsuke des plus médiocre avec un col très lâche et inélégant.
Last week end, I get the luck to go to a tea ceremony initiation organised by a local association and done by an Urasenke master.
For this occasion I wanted to wear a kimono, the one I showed you few weeks ago. Sensei was a bit impress that a french can wear kimono.
In this room, there were no mirror and I was very stressful to didn't have enough time. So My kitsuke was a mess. Especially the collar which was to loose and inelegant. 


Je n'ai pas de photos de ce kitsuke, mon mari n'ayant eu le temps de faire que trois photos avant que notre petit se mette à réclamer sa part d'attention.
I don't have picture of this kitsuke because my husband had the time to take only three picture before our little diva boy claimed for some  attention.

L'initiation fut très intéressante et j'ai appris beaucoup de choses. Comment plier le fukusa (chiffon rouge), de ce geste si fluide et élégant, comment purifier le natsume (boite à thé) et le chashaku (cuillère en bambou) et comment battre le thé. Nous avons aussi appris à être invité, comment recevoir le okashi (gâteau ou sucrerie) et comment boire le thé, le fameux matcha.
J’espère pouvoir suivre mon premier vrai cours ce mois ci.
This initiation was very interesting and I learn o lot of things. How to fold a fukusa (the red fabric), with this so beautiful movement, how to purify a natsume (tea box) and chashaku (tea spoon) et how to make the tea. We also learn to be invited, how to received okashi (cakes) and how to drink the famous match. 
I hope to follow a real lesson this month.

Côté kimono, sensei, portait un komon  couleur crème à motif floraux vraiment adorable et un magnifique obi ornée de branche d'un arbre que je n'ais pas identifié.  Contrairement à moi, son kitsuke était impeccable et a tenu toute la séance.
Concerning kimono, sensei wore a lovely cream komon with flower  and a beautiful obi decorated with branch from a tree I didn't know. Unlike me, her kitsuke was perfect and stay in place the whole session. 

Pour le fun j'avais aussi bricolé une barrette au couleur de mon kitsuke. :)
